Huginn is the first of two ravens belonging to Odin, the All-Father of the Norse Gods in Valhalla. (The name Huginn means 'Thought' in Norse mythology.)
Each dawn, Odin would send his two ravens out to all the 9 Realms, commanding them to observe each kingdom and return each night.
They flew from the fiery depths of Muspelheim to the icy reaches of the Jotunheim, and all the kingdoms in between, imparting Odin with counsel, wisdom and secret knowledge obtained on their daily travels.
I wanted this piece to feel future-oriented and hopeful.
I consider Huginn as a metaphor, showing us how we leave our homes each day to live our daily lives, and chose a pose showing him looking upwards towards the sky, ready to head out on his daily journey.
